How AVGusto AI works
Transparency
AVGusto uses artificial intelligence in one place: reading your meal photos. This page explains what that means in practice.
What the AI does
When you photograph a meal, AI recognizes the foods in the picture and estimates their portion size, calories, protein, carbs and fats. Barcode scans and manual entries do not use AI — they come from food databases.
What it is built on
Food recognition runs on third-party AI vision models. Nutrition values are then cross-checked against public food databases where a match is found. We do not train models on your photos.
Limitations
Accuracy depends on the photo, the dish and the portion. Mixed dishes, sauces and hidden ingredients are the hardest to read. Every value is an estimate, not a measurement, and does not replace advice from a doctor or dietitian.
Not medical advice
AVGusto is a nutrition tracker, not a medical device. It does not diagnose or treat anything and makes no decisions about your health. If you have a medical condition, dietary restrictions or specific nutritional needs, talk to a doctor or a registered dietitian.
